Margaret Floyd passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday morning. Born on September 11, 1926, in Ramona, OK, to William and Helen Bates, she graduated from Marquette High School and earned her nursing degree from St. John Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. After a fulfilling nursing career, she retired in 1988.
Margaret is survived by her four children: Ellen Floyd, David Floyd, Bill Floyd, and Mary Lou Dicks, along with fourteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, A.J., and her son, Andrew Floyd.
A devoted wife and mother, Margaret embraced life with her family and was a dedicated nurse. Her strong Catholic faith was evident in her daily attendance at Mass and her commitment to praying the rosary. She cherished her church community and volunteered her time in her younger years. Margaret also enjoyed water aerobics at the Thornton YMCA.
Deeply loved by her family, Margaret will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Church of the Resurrection 10 AM Monday, Nov. 4, 2024. Viewing Saturday 12 - 7 and Sunday 12 - 5 PM at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel. Rosary 6:30 PM Sunday, November, 3 at the church.
