Obituary

Margaret Sue Luther Hepola was born June 11, 1943 in Elk City, OK to Euil and Offie Doshier Luther. She was the youngest of the family with two older sisters, Vera Luther Parham, Lola Luther Warren and two older brothers, Donald Gene Luther and C.B. Luther, Jr.

At 17, she married the love of her life, Eugene L. Hepola on February 25, 1961 and graduated from Elk City High School that May. She and Gene welcomed their first daughter, Amy Suzanne in October of 1963 and a little over five years later in February of 1969, they had twin girls, Kaye Linn and Keri Beth. The family of five settled in Tulsa, OK where Margaret looked after the home and girls until 1977, when she began working in downtown Tulsa. She became a Senior Underwriter Assistant Manager for Atlas Life Insurance Company until retiring in 1991. She was a founding member of Evergreen Church and was active in worshipping and serving for twenty years. Her Sunday School class became her extended family and she loved attending socials, playing card and dominoes, and doing life with them. She enjoyed hosting dinners and holidays in her home, where she never turned down an opportunity to cook a delicious meal or make baked goods and desserts. Although she took pride in her children and grandchildren and could not brag enough about them, she was most proud of the fact that all of them have a relationship with Jesus Christ. This coming February of 2020, Gene and Margaret would have celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Margaret is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Gene; their three daughters: Amy Hawley of Tulsa and her husband Billy; Kaye Linn Hewett of Broken Arrow and her husband Jeff; and Keri Beth Hepola of Broken Arrow, six grandchildren: Adam Hawley of Tulsa, OK; Sarah Hawley Cloud of Hot Springs, AR and her husband Michael Cloud; Josie Hawley of Tulsa, OK; and Hailey, Parker and Carson Hewett of Broken Arrow. Margaret is also survived by her brothers Donald Gene Luther and his wife Tama of Baton Rouge, LA and C.B. Luther Jr. and his wife Joyce of Perryton, TX, along with many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents Euil and Offie Luther, sisters Vera Luther Parham and Lola Luther Warren. Margaret joined her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2019 just before 8 p.m. surrounded by family.
