Margaret Arlene Danielson Ketchum, 96, was born August 29, 1921 in Ogema, Wisconsin to Carl (Charlie) Danielson and Annie Norman Danielson. She graduated from Muskegon High School, Muskegon, Michigan and went on to Muskegon Community College while working at Shaw Box Crane, Muskegon Heights.
Margaret married the love of her life, medical student Hall Ketchum, on December 18, 1943. She was employed by Stevenson, Jordan and Harrison Engineering in Chicago while Hall completed his residency.
Margaret and Hall settled in Tulsa, Okla. in 1952 where Hall practiced obstetrics and gynecology. There she nurtured her family of 3 children and many friends with her blue-ribbon cooking as evidenced by 5 Tulsa State Fair ribbons for culinary arts; her sewing, knitting and crocheting, all done with loving hands and a smile on her face.
Margaret was a 55-year Emerald honored member of P.E.O., a philanthropic, educational organization. She was a member of Heritage Antique Club, Monday Market Investment Club and Boston Avenue Methodist Church. She volunteered at the Children's Medical Center and with March of Dimes. She surrounded all with her kindness, love, good humor and that smile!
After Hall retired in 1985, they began extensive travels with friends to many European countries. On trips to California, Michigan, Illinois, Mexico, Florida and the Bahamas Hall, with a private pilot's license, enjoyed flying the family in his own plane. Margaret surprised Hall, and herself, when she won a Piper airplane with a lucky charity raffle ticket. They regularly visited their centennial farm in Illinois, childhood home of Hall's parents. Margaret and Hall celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2013.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband Hall, daughter Nancy Ketchum Marks, sister Hazel Danielson and brother Gilbert C. Danielson. Those Margaret leaves to cherish her memory include: Ron Marks, husband of Nancy; daughter Marcia Ketchum, son William Hall Ketchum and wife Jan; grandchildren Scott Alan Marks and wife Tracy, Laurie Perkins Martinez and husband Lee, Steve Ketchum, Lisa Ketchum Hatch and husband Tyler, Megan Ann Ketchum; great grandchildren Caden Perkins; Sophia, Maron and Delaney Marks, and Deacon Hatch.
