Ratliff – Margaret Jane Harriman, 87, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Oklahoma Methodist Manor in Tulsa. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don E. Ratliff, her parents, Burl and Dorothy Harriman, her sister Frances Gideon and brother Don Harriman. Margaret is survived by her children, daughter Tricia Keeling and husband Ben, son Dwight Ratliff, daughter Donna Rosene and husband Bob, daughter Julie Jenkins and husband Gary, daughter Kristi Manley and husband Grant, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sisters Dorothy Cox and Barbara Noakes and brother David Harriman.
Margaret was born November 10, 1927 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1949 and taught high school instrumental music until her marriage to Don on June 6, 1950. They made their home in Tulsa where they were lifelong members of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Margaret devoted her life to her husband and children and to serving the Lord through the ministries of Immanuel Baptist Church. Her service included teaching Sunday School to young married women and children, directing children's choirs, singing, playing hand bells and playing the piano for choirs and worship services. She had a passion for music and for teaching children the word of God. That passion led her to serve as a volunteer teaching music to students at Whittier Elementary School for many years. Her life was a life well lived. Formal visitation from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, Moore's Eastlawn Chapel. Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Tulsa on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
