Marian Ilene Schneider finished her journey on this earth on October 3, 2015 while living in Columbus, Ohio. Affectionately known as �Mimi� to her family and friends, she was preceded in death by her parents Hubert Nelson and Alma Mae Schivers Nelson, her dear husband of 59 years Frederic N. Schneider, Jr. and her daughter, Margaret Ellen Schneider. She leaves behind her sister, Muriel Brauer of Chicago, Illinois, and a son, Frederic N. Schneider, III and his wife Nancy and a daughter Muriel Patricia Schneider O�Connell and her husband, Sean, of Columbus, Ohio, as well as three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Marian was born in Keokuk, Iowa on August 29, 1921. After graduating from Keokuk High School in 1939, Marian studied at Iowa State University. On August 4, 1944 Marian married Frederic and after completion of his service in the Navy in January, 1946, took up residence in George West, Texas where Frederic worked on his uncle�s oil leases; thereafter Marian and Frederic moved to Ada, Oklahoma where Frederic worked on other leases and then entered the University of Oklahoma for an advance degree in Petroleum Engineering. In 1952, Marian and Frederic permanently located in Tulsa where Frederic worked for Pan American Petroleum, later Amoco Oil Corporation. Marian and Frederic raised three children and enjoyed a happy and fulfilling life. Later, Marian and Frederic traveled extensively in various trips and sea cruises, including trips to China and Egypt.
While those who knew and loved her remember and presently mourn the loss of Mimi from our lives, we likewise rejoice in her life, well-lived, with the successful completion of her journey through life�s joys and sorrows. We will miss her dearly and look forward to seeing her again on the other side.
There will be visitation held for Marian from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, October 23, 2015 at Moore�s Southlawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M.
