Obituary

Marice Samuel Hodges, Born June 16, 1934, ascended to heaven May 25, 2022, a few days short of his 88th birthday. Marice was born to a family of modest means that worked a family farm on the outskirts of Catoosa. Marice and his twin brother Horace began working at an early age, leading a team of horses from one end of the rocky farm to the other, plowing, sewing, harvesting, again and again.

After graduating Catoosa High School in 1952, Marice attended bible school in Waxahachie, Texas. He joined Gideons International in 2000. His primary occupation was oilfield manufacturing, regarded a legend for his tireless work ethic and ingenious innovations. He led companies such as Walter O'Bannon and Brooks Flamespray and finally founded H-V Manufacturing in 1975 which he owned and operated until 2016, then selling to son, Michael. The business continues to thrive today in Glenpool and Okmulgee. Marice had a lifelong love of aviation and along with his wife Sandi, owned 4 hangars at Riverside airport, filled with a collection of vintage airplanes that they built, repaired, flew and maintained, traveling to virtually every air show in the United States, showing and winning awards for their outstanding collection.

Marice had a strong Christian faith and was a diligent student of the bible, generous with both his time and wealth to the church and many benevolent organizations. He and Sandi travelled all over the world for leisure and mission work. Their favorite country was Israel.

Marice leaves behind the love of his life and constant companion Sandi, wife and best friend for 52 years. Marice had 5 children, Randal Hodges (deceased), Marcus Hodges, Cindy Hodges-Cunningham, Cathy Hodges, Michael Hodges as well as 7 grandchildren and great grandchildren and sole surviving sibling, Bob Hodges, currently residing in Seattle.

We are comforted to know that Marice will be joined in heaven by parents Raymond and Grace Hodges, sister June Crow, twin brother Horace Hodges and son Randal Hodges.

The family would like to thank the caregivers that provided such compassion and expertise during his final months. Marice died comfortably at home as per his wishes.
