Obituary

Marie Pierce Wilson was born on January 8, 1929 to her parents Walter Mack Pierce & Mae Monroe Harris. While her birth name was Ollie Marie Pierce she changed her name in her early adult years to Marie Pierce Wilson. Marie passed away on July 21, 2025 in her bedroom at her daughter's home in Houston.Marie was a very dedicated and active member of the 15th & Delaware Church of Christ which merged and became Crosstown Church of Christ in the early 1980's. She enjoyed helping in the nursey, making food for visitor's luncheon and funeral gatherings, bringing homemade cookies when volunteering for "Monday Night for the Master" and helping in the summers with VBS. In 2020, during covid, she switched to online viewing until she was no longer able to watch. She loved her Crosstown family for many, many years. In 1998, when her dear husband passed and she was no longer a 24/7 caregiver, she became very involved in an exercise program designed for seniors at her local hospital, St John's. She developed strong friendships with classmates and would have lunch and sometimes travel with some of her friends. She ended up participating in senior aerobics until she was 91yr old and she stayed in touch with many of those friends up until her Parkinsons kept her from easily talking on the phone.Marie is survived by her son Donald Wilson and wife Jane of Stark, FL, her son Jeff Wilson and wife Lisa of Bixby, OK and her daughter Jodi Lewis and husband James of Houston, TX. Grandchildren: Bianca Marie Boring and husband Jason of Friendsville, TN, Joshua Wilson and wife Hannah of Harrison, NJ, Ryland Lewis of Miami, FL, Dr. McKinlee Salazar and husband Dr. Andrew Salazar of Houston, TX and Will Wilson of Bixby, OK. Great grandchildren: Savannah K Boring of Friendsville, TN, Jaxson Boring of Friendsville, TN and Poppy Marie Salazar of Houston, TX. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews of whom she loved very dearly, and they all loved her. Marie loved her family like none other and was so proud of each of their many achievements.Marie is preceded in death by her parents Walter Pierce & Mae Pierce Wilson, her loving husband Bill Wilson, her son Mark Wilson, her siblings George Pierce, Vernon Pierce, Clara Thomas, Della Wilhoit and Lora Milligan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crosstown Church of Christ at info@crosstownfamily.org or The Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinson.org info@crosstownfamily.org>
