Hopper, Marilyn Kay, 80 passed away on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on August 31, 1943 to Fred and Hazel (Landon) Rector in Pawhuska, OK. Marilyn graduated from Pawhuska High School in 1961. She went to work for her brother, Jim, in Recreational Surfaces Inc, worked for Sunwestern Properties, followed by working with her son at Hopper Construction Techniques for 27 years.
In her free time, Marilyn enjoyed bowling leagues and tournaments with her husband, Fred Hopper. She cherished quality time with family, traveling to Branson and Las Vegas, and spending time with her family at her lake house at both Fort Gibson and Grand Lake.
Preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick "Fred" Hopper; parents, Fred Rector and Hazel Landon Rector; sisters, Kathleen Rector Sellers, Opal Rector; brothers, Jim Rector, Arthur (Bobby) Rector, Melvin Rector; granddaughter, Amber Nicole Hopper. Survived by her son, Michael S. Hopper of Grand Lake; Daughter-in-law, Jennifer S. Hopper of Tulsa; two grandsons, Michael Ryan Hopper of Tulsa, and Adam Tyler (Sarah Ann) Hopper of Piedmont, Ok; two granddaughters, Jenna Sue (Michael Adam) Chandler of Bixby, and Emily Kay (Dustin Travis) Freeman of Tulsa; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Sue Chandler, Bryson Michael Chandler, Gavin Thomas Chandler, Henley June Chandler, Addilyn Grace Hopper, Sutton Joy Hopper, Everett Tyler Hopper, and Lilian Aurora Freeman; sister, Treva Strahan (John) Iwanski of Edmond; nieces, Libby Strahan of Pawhuska, Katie (Donovan) Quaid of Bartlesville; nephew, Josh Rector of Tulsa.
