Obituary

Marilyn Joy Staton, age 79, resident of Coweta, OK, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK. She was born in Eads, CO on February 8, 1944, to John and Rosalie Glenn.

Marilyn attended Will Rogers High School where she graduated in 1962 and was ranked in the top 3% of all students in Tulsa Public Schools. She attended Oklahoma School of Accounting and eventually went to work at Shell Oil Company for 32 years. She retired in 1999 at the age of 55.

During her school years, she was a soccer player and a cheerleader. She learned to slalom water ski as a young adult and enjoyed camping and spending time at the lake. She previously held a membership with the Coweta Tigers Booster Club for football, baseball, and wrestling during the time her sons were playing sports. She was an avid sports fan. Her favorites were OU Football, Lady Sooners Softball, and any sport her children or grandchildren played.

Marilyn's favorite things to do were spend time with family, watch her kids and grandkids play sports, and travel the world with her beloved cousins John, Betty, and Glenda. She also enjoyed family vacations with her kids, grandkids, and siblings. Fun get-togethers and trips with her devoted high school friends were also special activities she dearly loved.

Marilyn was dedicated to her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her life! She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Dianna Young of Broken Arrow, OK, Debbie Davis of Broken Arrow, OK, Larry Staton, Jr of Coweta, OK and Gary Staton and his wife Danielle of Bixby, OK; her sister, Marsha Glenn of Claremore, OK and brother, Mike Glenn and his wife Jacque of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren, Heather Radloff and her husband Joseph, Colton Brewer, Gavin Staton, Drake Staton, Brody Staton, Kali Davis-Brinkman and her husband Dalton, two great-grandchildren, Addison Wicklund and soon-to-be Raider James Radloff; several nieces, nephews and a myriad of cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Larry Staton, Sr.
