Mark A. Cremer
Mark A. Cremer passed into eternal life with Christ on December 21, 2014. Mark was born on March 31, 1951 in Evanston, Illinois to Stewart and Maxine Cremer. Mark's family moved to Tulsa in 1959. Mark graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1969 and next attended TU where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1974. Mark then earned his MD from OU Medical School in 1979. He then moved to Irvine, California where he was Resident in Radiology at UC Irvine. He was chosen to be Chief Resident while there during the years 1981-1983. Upon completing his residency, Mark was hired on as a partner in the firm of Radiology Consultants of Tulsa and worked 30 years with RCT until retiring in July of 2013. Early in his practice with RCT, Mark served as volunteer faculty with OU Medical School in the position of Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology. Mark was awarded the Aesculapian Award for excellence in teaching of the art and science of medicine for the years 1995-96. He is fondly remembered for his sense of humor, wit and kindness to the staff he worked with during his 30 year affiliation with RCT and St. Francis Hospital. On December 16, 1986, Mark married Suzy and later adopted her two children, Shelly and Chad. Mark was a loving father who truly became Dad to Shelly and Chad. Mark and Suzy also were blessed with their niece, Haley, who lived with them during her high school years. Mark has been a generous and loving husband, father, uncle and granddad, as well as a kind friend to many. Later in Mark's life, he came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He wasn't afraid to share his faith with others. Mark loved to play golf and he and Suzy enjoyed many trips to Hawaii.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Suzy, his children, Shelly and Chad, his niece, Haley Rafferty, grandchildren, Gordon, Abby, Sophia, Vivian and Markie. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Cremer and wife Judy who reside in Seattle, Washington. Also surviving him are his sister-in-law, Jeanine Rafferty and brother-in-law, Mike Rafferty. Mark also leaves behind three cousins, Gail Huber and husband Jeff, Barb Harris, John Darden and his wife Melanie. A Memorial service for Mark is scheduled for Tuesday, December 23 at 11:00 am at Asbury United Methodist Church in the Mason Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mark Cremer to Good Samaritan Health Services. Services handled by Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st Tulsa, OK (918) 663-2233.
