Mark Habeck
December 28, 1954 - September 9, 2025
Mark Habeck, 70, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones as one of his favorite songs, "I'll Fly Away," played softly in the room. Born on December 28, 1954, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Mark was the youngest of two boys born to Fritz and Fola Habeck.
An "Okie from Muskogee," Mark graduated from Muskogee High School in 1973, where he proudly led the football team as a talented and confident quarterback. In 1979, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Northeastern State University, where he studied economics, marketing, and psychology. Later in life, he continued his education, taking graduate-level courses in Human Relations at OU-Tulsa.
Fueled by an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit, Mark dedicated many years to his career as both a financial consultant and a stock broker. His competitive nature served him well in this capacity.
Armed with a sharp sense of humor and plenty of charm, he often described himself as "half-witty," a classic "Mark-ism."
Mark had many loves: music, nature, and football were among the top. He was often found with a guitar in hand, and many of his favorite memories were spent playing music with family and friends. He instilled all of these loves in his only daughter, Maddie, as well.
As a citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, Mark's heritage was a steady source of pride throughout his life.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz Habeck and Fola Stratton, along with his brother, Derek Habeck. He is survived by his daughter, Maddie Habeck, along with a number of extended family and friends who will carry his memory with stories, songs, love, and laughter.
A memorial service celebrating Mark's life will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma.
