Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Marlene Poston Buker on September 28, 2026. Born on July 20, 1935, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Marlene lived a life filled with love, devotion, grace, and family. She will be remembered for the warmth she brought to those around her, the love she had for her family, and the many lives she touched throughout her 91 years.

Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Phil Buker; her son, Dennis Buker; her parents, Luther and Bessie Poston; and her siblings, Mavelene, Raymond, and Bob.

Marlene and Phil began their life together on August 12, 1953, while Phil was serving in the Navy. Their marriage was a beautiful partnership built on love, devotion, and mutual respect. Marlene was a devoted wife and mother who raised her family with warmth, strength, and unwavering care.

Marlene was the proud mother of three children, Dennis Buker, Denise Harness and her husband, Mike, and DeAnna Raymond. Although Dennis predeceased her, his memory remained a cherished part of her family. Her family continued to grow with the arrival of her treasured grandchildren: Dennis's sons, Adam and Jason, and Denise's daughters, Alicia and Emily, along with Emily's husband, Todd. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Greyson, Jase, and Charlotte. Each one held a special and treasured place in Marlene's heart.

Marlene graduated from Central High School in Tulsa and later built a fulfilling career as an Inventory Controller in the retail industry after her children were older. She approached her work with the same dedication, care, and diligence that she brought to all aspects of her life.

A lifelong lover of flowers and gardens, Marlene took great joy in surrounding her home with beautiful, vibrant blooms. She also found endless companionship and happiness in her beloved Scottie dogs-Mickey, Mac, Katie, and Wally-who were treasured members of her family.

Above all, Marlene will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her family will miss her deeply, but they take comfort in the countless stories, memories, and moments they shared with her. Her presence will continue to live on in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
