Obituary

Martin Hale Ramsey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Tulsa, OK. He was born in Tulsa, OK on May 14, 1946 to Oran "Bill" and Marion Ramsey. Martin was a member of Church of God, and proudly served in the Army for 10 years, ending in 1975, at the Rank of Staff Sergeant. While serving in Vietnam in 1969, he was exposed to Agent Orange and had health issues resulting from this in later years. He loved volunteering with various Veterans and Disabled American Veterans groups. He had an Associate Degree in electronics, was an avid history buff, enjoyed reading, and tinkering with and fixing things. Before Martin was forced to retire, because of declining health issues caused by being hit by a drunk driver, he was a CLEET-Certified, Armed Security Guard and worked at various locations, including Liberty Glass Plant and Pinkerton Security. Martin was, in his own words, "a military brat" and spoke five languages, fluently. He went to grade school in France, middle school in Alamogordo, NM, and graduated from high school in Okinawa, Japan, which gave him many fun, exciting and interesting experiences to share with his family and many friends. Martin loved people, had a kind, generous and giving spirit, and was an excellent storyteller. He never met a stranger, and within a few minutes of meeting him, he would know your life story and you would know his, too. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Antonia "Toni" Ramsey of Tulsa, OK; mother, Marion Ramsey Corbin of San Antonio, TX; sons, Robert Lee Ramsey of Tulsa, OK, Michael Angel Ramsey of Tulsa, OK, Adam Antonio Ramsey and wife, Ricki of Mounds, OK; daughter, Marion Isabel Markland and husband, John of Grove, OK; brother, Jeffrey Allan Ramsey and wife, Jennifer Lee of Tulsa, OK; sister, Nancy Ruth Andel and husband, George of Watertown, SD; seven grandchildren, Dageon, Elyjah and Journey Ramsey; Lovella, John, Gabriel and Liliana Markland; and several nieces and nephews. Martin was preceded in death by his father.
