Marvin C. Jaffe, 86, died January 27, 2020 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a short illness. His funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30th at Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel located at 3612 E. 91st Street, Tulsa OK. Services will be held at 10:30am with a reception immediately following.
Marvin is survived by his wife Ruth Jaffe; his sons, Stuart Jaffe and wife, Fran; David Jaffe and wife, Tracy; his step-children Dawn Koenig, Eric Koenig and wife, Marci; Mike Koenig and wife, Debbie; his eleven grandchildren Jacob Jaffe, Emily Jaffe, Alex Schooley, Jake Koenig, Leah Jaffe, Liam Jaffe, Kirsten Koenig, Daniel Jaffe, Nolan Jaffe, Hope Koenig and Annie Koenig; and his two great-grandsons John and Preston Schooley. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances.
Marvin was born on May 8, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to Simon and Matilda Jaffe. He grew up on Hart Street in Brooklyn and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He is best known for his incredible work ethic and success in his career at Devries International, where he left an enduring legacy. His coworkers and clients describe Marvin as a mentor, leader, and friend.
On March 1st, 1986, Marvin married his loving wife, Ruth Jaffe. They created a beautiful life together. Marvin dearly loved his wife Ruth.
To Marvin, family was everything. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He never turned down a good card game or the opportunity to give you a big hug and kiss. His "New York" style humor always made those around him laugh. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their numerous sporting and musical events. He was an incredible man and will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
