Moore, Marvin Gene, 82, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 15, 2016. He was born Friday, September 29, 1933, in Golden City, MO, to Frank T. and Marjorie (Heath) Moore. He served 5 years in the U.S. Army, serving in Japan and Hawaii. He worked at National Tank Company and CE-NATCO, as a supervisor. He married the love of his life, Vera Ruth Young, in 1956, in Springfield, MO, and a daughter, Donna Kay Moore, was born to the marriage. The U.S. Army sent Gene and Ruth home to the mainland on the S.S. Leilani. They loved to travel. Gene would say, "We've been from Waikiki to Washington, D.C." He loved serving his church, Brookhaven Christian (Disciples) Church for 45 years, and he loved his family and family gatherings. He never could decide if he enjoyed watching the Cardinal baseball games or going fishing best! Marvin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Moore, of Tulsa; daughter, Donna Kay Moore; grandson, James Branton Wiederholt; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Nicole Wiederholt, both of Germantown, TN; his sisters, Dorthy Kniffer of Cape Fair, MO, Fern Goodenough of Carterville, MO, Lois Rush and husband, Norman of Carthage, MO, Mary Ann Simmons and husband, Gary of Alba, MO, and Patty Baker and husband, Wayne of Carl Junction, MO; may nephews, nieces and cousins; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Lee Moore; sister, Catherine Moore; and a loving step-father, Harry Hurrell. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Read and Debbie Furgerson, Kelly Henderson and Rosal Osburn, for their loving help in Gene's last weeks.
