Mary Alice Stringfellow Wright was born on March 18, 1935, the ninth of 14 children in Wetumka, Oklahoma to WJ and Ollie Stringfellow. Mary Alice believed that if you worked hard and sacrificed, things will work out for you and your family, values that her parents instilled in her. Mary Alice also believed in physical fitness and was a frequent visitor to the gym.

Mary Alice graduated from Wetumka High School in 1953 and moved to Tulsa to work at Hotel Tulsa, then became a teller at First National Bank where she met her future husband, Patrick Nolan Wright. She then became a flight attendant at American Airlines, before marrying Nolan in Wetumka on January 18th, 1957. Mary Alice and Nolan had two children, Patrick Nolan Wright, Jr. and Lisa Kay Wright Coronado.

After raising her children, she returned to banking and then worked in the marketing department for American Airlines for the next 20 years. In 1972, while still working for American Airlines, she and Nolan bought the Virginia Lee Apartments, providing affordable housing for individuals in east Tulsa to this day.

Mary Alice will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Her smile charmed the room, her laughter brought comfort. She loved her family with strength and compassion.
Mary Alice lived an adventurous life traveling the world with American Airlines and her loved ones.

Mary Alice passed away quietly at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by: her devoted husband of 67 years, Patrick Nolan Wright; daughter, Lisa Wright Coronado and her husband, Melchor Coronado, Jr. Mary Alice is also survived by: four grandchildren; Shanan Haddox and her husband Danny; Misty Northam and her husband Brent; Noah Patrick Coronado; and Jonah Jose Coronado. Mary Alice has six great grandchildren: Layne Haddox; Blake Haddox- who proceeded Mary Alice's death in 2017; Baylie Haddox; Addison Northam; Brynn Northam; and Clover Northam. Mary Alice also has three great-great-grandchildren (with one more on the way) Daniel Haddox, Ryker Haddox, and Nashville Haddox.

Visitation will be 4-6PM, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Moore Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 30, 2024 at Moore Southlawn Chapel.
