Obituary

Mary Etta Clark, age 100 of Sapulpa, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Mary was born July 18, 1924 in Hannibal Missouri to Slyvia Martha and David Robert Shuck. Her father was a butcher by trade and her mother was a home maker. She attended grade school in Hannibal then her father moved to Rock Island, III and there she graduated from High School. After High School her father took a job with Douglas Aerospace where Mary Etta also went to work. She worked on the B-24 as an engine rigger where she was in charge of making sure the engine controls were coordinated and functioning properly. She also volunteered at the SOS club to help boost the morale of the servicemen listening to them and shopping for them to send gifts to their relatives and loved ones.

There she met Gerald Strader and had three children. They later divorced and she worked at several jobs and for a while worked at the assessors office. She worked at Rockwell International Aerospace when she decided to opening an Italian restaurant named Peppe's Italian Restaurant. This was rated a 4 star and also chalked up a 3 star rating with the famed Mobile guide and accreditation with World Famous Restaurants International (the only such ranking in Tulsa at the time). She also got the 1976 Good Dining Award from the American Diner's Society. Her daughters Karen and Marsha were her two most important employees.

In 1980 she returned to Rockwell International where she met Terry Clark and in the fall of 1981 were married. Terry accepted the position of West Coast representative for Rockwell on the B-1B program in Palmdale Ca. and they allowed Mary Etta to transfer to the facility also. She later retired in 1987 and they stayed in California until Terry's retirement in 2004.

Later they moved to the Tulsa area and in 2019 moved to their currant residence in Sapulpa, She loved to travel in their vintage automobiles and go to car shows. She was very active and loved to work in her ceramics and working in her flower gardens. She was very active in her church at Picket Prairie Baptist and the Fun Bunch car Club in Sapulpa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Norma Thurman, bothers Carl Baxter, Robert Shuck, son Denny Strader.

She is survived by husband Terry Clark, daughters Karen Strader, Marsha Harrell, Grandson Jason Harrell, granddaughter Charissa Gonzalez (Manny), Great Grandson Canan Harrell, Derek Gonzalez Great granddaughters, Kylee Harrell, Daria Gonzalez, Great Great Granddaughter Kaiya Castor, Tiegan Harrell. Great Great Grandson Lucas Harrell.

Visitation for Mary will be on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74145.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pickett Prairie Baptist Church, 11330 W. 181st Street, Sapulpa, Oklahoma 74066, with Pastor Randy Parker officiating.
