Mary Carolyn Crawford Welch was born November 4, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and died on January 30, 2021, at the age of 91. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1947 and was still attending the monthly luncheons for the Class of '47. Carolyn went on to graduate from Oklahoma A&M (OSU) in 1951, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married the love of her life, Charles E. Welch, on June 30, 1951 in Tulsa.
Carolyn had a servant's heart and was always involved in many organizations. She was an active member of the Tulsa Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club and a past president; an active member of Kiwanitas and a past president; an active member of Chapter BA of PEO and a past president; a Lifetime-member of the Junior Auxiliary of the Children's Day Nursery and an active member of New Haven United Methodist Church for 62 years.
Her passions included playing bridge and watching college football & basketball. Carolyn and her husband Charlie were long-time attendees of TU Men's Basketball games. In recent years, she became a big fan of the OKC Thunder and rarely missed watching a game. She also enjoyed spending time on Grand Lake. Carolyn was an avid supporter of the Miss Oklahoma Organization and welcomed countless Miss Oklahomas into her family.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles E. Welch; son, Gary Alan Welch and son Kirk Crawford Welch. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Welch Alexander of Tulsa; granddaughters, Ashley (David) Peters, Dallas, TX; Kelly (Cameron) Parks, Jenks; Tracy (Hunter) Stephens, Allen, TX; Kacie (Payton) Laskey, Bixby and grandsons Ryan and Tyler Welch, Overland Park, KS.
She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren who all adored their "Mudder" -- Kinley and Hattie Stephens; Brooklyn and Graham Peters; Caden and Gracen Parks and Presleigh and Lincoln Laskey.
