We celebrate the life of Mary Helen (Coomes) Guillaume. She lived a full, strong, energetic life of 94 years continually leading, loving and giving to everyone whose lives she touched. Her sweet legacy will be celebrated during a Memorial Mass on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11am, the Church of the Madalene, 3188 East 22nd Street, Tulsa, OK.
Mary Helen was born and reared in Coffeyville, Kansas. She married Bill in 1946 and they subsequently moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma for his career with Sun Oil Company.
MH was blessed with musical talents and played the violin, piano and organ entertaining many throughout the years. She also shared her musicality with her students at Monte Cassino and then provided in-home piano lessons before and after school.
Once their youngest was in grade school, Mary Helen joined the real estate firm Mrs. Jonas Ford as an office administrator and progressed to real estate closer for numerous years with Crouch Davisson Stewart.
Mary Helen and Bill were blessed to be a "founding family" of the Church of the Madalene. They loved their parish so much that they bought a home directly across the street from the church/school in 1961. For more than fifty years, their home was open to the priests and sisters for family dinners and holiday celebrations as well as the frequent 10:00pm tea visit from Father McNamee. She actively volunteered in the parish including Women's Club, altar flower arranging, making communion hosts, the Quilting Club, wedding coordinator and many, many funeral dinners.
In addition to family activities and church, MH loved her bridge clubs and gardening.
On January 6, 2018, Mary Helen joined her husband Bill and oldest daughter Susan Link (Sugar Land, TX) in the eternal and beautiful life ever after. She is survived by her other daughters: Joanie Stephenson (husband David) - Tulsa, OK and Patty Chapin (husband Kent) St. Louis, MO and son-in-law Lonnie Link - Sugar Land, TX as well as her grandchildren: Stephanie Wehner (husband Brent) - Wylie, TX; Meredith Cress (husband Colby) - Sugar Land, TX; Brooke Stephenson Hyodo (husband Hiroyuki) - Matsuyama, Japan and Drew Stephenson - Chicago, IL.
