Mary Margaret Hemphill, 85, of Tulsa, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023. She was born on April 4, 1938, in Tulsa, to Ben and Maggie Weber. Mary retired from the Tulsa County Courthouse, after over 20 years in the microfilm department. She attended Word of Life Church in Sand Springs. She enjoyed bingo, board games, Wahoo (murder), western movies, dancing, sweet tea, and most of all, her grandchildren. Mary is survived by her children, Gordon Hemphill and his wife Rebecca of Garfield, WA, Rethal Reynolds and her husband, Victor of Broken Arrow, Charles Hemphill Jr. of Sand Springs, Earl Hemphill of Tulsa, her brother, Hollie O'Pry of Sapulpa, and her sister, Martha Wright of Arkansas, as well as her 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Hemphill Sr., her sisters, Mabel Noyes, Gladys Beard, Ella Craig, her twin sisters, Della VanNess and Nellie Pierce, and her brother Alvin. She left us with one of her fun recipes to share for Christmas Cocoa. Measure half cup of cocoa mix into a mug, stir in 1 cup of boiling water, and enjoy!
