Mary Hicks, age 87, passed away March 13, 2025 at Baptist Village in Owasso, Oklahoma. She was born August 2, 1937, to Cecil and Marie Henry in Kansas City, Kansas. Mary married Bill Hicks at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett, Missouri on April 21, 1955. After graduating from Pierce City High School (Pierce City, Missouri) in May 1955, Mary joined Bill in San Diego where he was serving in the U.S. Navy. Mary and Bill raised their family in Tulsa, Oklahoma where Bill was a union electrician and Mary was a food service worker in the Tulsa Public Schools.

Mary loved gardening and was an amazing cook who was happiest when she was spending time with her family. Mary and Bill enjoyed camping with their children, as well as with Mary's sister, Vivian and brother-in-law, Gene Timmons. Over the years, Mary and Bill enjoyed attending their children's and grandchildren's many sporting events.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, and brother-in-law. She is survived by son Ricky Hicks (Denise) of Claremore and David Hicks (Carol) of Franklin, Tennessee; daughter Debbie Stewart (Jason) of Owasso; grandchildren Tiffany Detherage (Mike), Daniel Hicks (Deanna), and Aaron Hicks (Addis) all of Broken Arrow; Jennifer Logan (Justin) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Christopher Hicks (Annie) of Franklin, Tennessee; Bridgett Bradshaw and Shayla Stewart of Owasso; Hailey Stewart and Myranda Stewart, of Missouri; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday, March 21, 2025 at Moore Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. A memorial service celebrating Mary's life will be held at Memorial Park Chapel, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday March 22nd at 10 am. Private interment at Memorial Park Cemetery will immediately proceed the service.
