Mary Lou Irvin was born on August 9, 1927 to Cecil and Liza Ruff. She passed away peacefully on November 12, 2014. Mary Lou grew up in Tulsa, along with her twin sister, Ada Sue Johnston. Mary Lou attended Oklahoma Baptist University, where she obtained a degree in business administration. She was employed by Phillips Petroleum, during which time she met and married Richard Glen Irvin. They were married at First Baptist Church of Tulsa. They moved to Houston, Texas, where they raised three children. After retiring, they returned to Tulsa. Mary Lou enjoyed her free time by volunteering at Saint Francis Hospital, attending Garden Club and participating in church activities. She loved sewing, making embroidered gifts for friends and quilts for various charities. When her illness limited her activity, she spent many hours making quilts with her niece, Pam Johnston. Mary Lou was preceded in death by Richard after 52 years of marriage. She is survived by her sister, Ada Sue Johnston, son and daughter-in-law Richard and Becky, daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Thomas Stone and son and daughter-in-law Dan and Darlene Irvin. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Becca, Shelly, Danny, Nathan, Donald, Andrew and Denise. Visitation will be 2-4 P.M., Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Moore's Southlawn. A memorial service will be held at eleven o'clock on Monday, November 17 at First Baptist Church Tulsa.
