ROBERTS, Mary Jean was born Mary Jean Berkman on April 25, 1922 to Margaret Shoulders Berkman and Axel Eugene Berkman in their home in Tulsa. Mary Jean grew up in Tulsa, attended Washington Elementary and graduated from Tulsa Central.

Mary Jean met John Roberts, Jr., at a United Brethren Church when she was 14 and he was 16. They married in 1945 for 69 wonderful years. At some point, John reduced Mary Jean's name to just Jean, when he wasn't calling her Scatterbrains.

Jean's children: Peggy (Rick) Weaver of Bernice, OK, Patrick E. (Liz) Roberts of Tulsa, OK, and Janine (Mark) Davies of Hillsboro, OR; Jean's grandchildren: Rita Avera, Neva Barbee, Levi Avera, Anna Roberts, Sarah Freeman, Jacqueline Davies, and Ashley Davies; eleven great-grandchildren.

Mary Jean Roberts is preceded in death by her husband, John; her sister, Helen Anthis; and both of her parents.

She was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church.
