Jewell, Mary Marcella, 87, died Friday, September 12, 2014, surrounded by her family. Mary was born January 1, 1927, Tulsa, OK to Charles E. & Fancheon (McIlvaine) Zahn. Mary married Clifford Jewell and together they made their home in Tulsa, where she helped him with his accounting business and they started their family.

Mary and Clifford were married on June 14, 1947. Their honeymoon night they sent a western union telegram to their parents letting them know they arrived at the hotel. Their family still has this telegram. In it, it showed in a few simple words just how proud Mary was of her new husband. It simple stated, "Please call me Mrs. Jewell".

Mary loved her family, but she also enjoyed her friends and her church. Bridge and gardening were some of her favorite hobbies (when there wasn't muted golf or football to watch) and she often volunteered at her church and other organizations including reading to children at area schools.

Mary is survived by her children: Kirk A. Jewell, his wife, Jan, Stillwater, OK., Lynn J. Kelley, husband, Dick, Alta Loma, California, Keri Beck, husband, Joe, from John's Creek, GA., Grandchildren: Ryan Jewell, Shane Jewell, Drake Kelley, Chelsea Kelley & Jordan Beck. Also survived by 2 sisters: Carolyn Kramer & Clarice Endom.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifford, 2 brothers & 1 sister.
