Mary Louella Sanders passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 16th, 2020 at age 94. The daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Jessie Pearl (Johnson) Lumpkin, she was born in Red Fork, Oklahoma on November 17th, 1925. She was the older sister of the late Jimmie Thomas Lumpkin. She graduated from Webster High School in 1944 and married Paul Nelson Sanders in 1947.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her grandson, Tommy, and her great-grandson, Josh. She is survived by: son, Tom of Sapulpa; son and daughter-in-law David and Stella of Tulsa; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Rene' of Sand Springs; 5 grandchildren and their spouses: James and Carrie, Paul and Tamera, Paul David and Annette, Shelley Thompson and husband Brad, and Traci Hix; great-grandchildren Emma Hix, Taylor Thompson, Arianna and Samuel Sanders among many others plus great-great-grandchildren; cousins, lifelong friends and co-workers.

She was a devoted church member of the Second Presbyterian Church where she helped with a children's community outreach and taught Sunday School. She loved her family and enjoyed fishing. She was extremely proud of her volunteer work, eventually becoming a certified teacher's assistant at the Crosstown Learning Center where she worked for over 20 years, retiring at age 89.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, Tulsa, OK., Graveside service to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
