Mary Ann Prader-McHenry passed away peacefully on November 16, 2022 at Glenwood Nursing Home in Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Mary was born on April 29, 1952 in Waukegan, Illinois to the late Catherine Abear Prader and James E. Prader. Mary was the third of four children and spent her early years in the Lake County area of Northern Illinois. The family moved to the Edgewater neighborhood on the north side of Chicago when she was nine years old where Mary attended the Wm. Goudy grade school and Nicholas Senn High School.
Mary lived and worked in Chicago until she married Wm. David McHenry of Greenville, Texas and lived in the Southwest area where Mary attended the University of Oklahoma as an art student. In 1981 the couple settled in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where they raised their two daughters Amber and Erin McHenry.
Mary was a gifted artist who brought beauty and style to everything she encountered. Her creativity and style inspired all who knew her and we will miss Mary dearly.
"Uma", as she was known by her grandchildren, dedicated her life to being a wonderful Mom and Grandmother.
Mary is lovingly held in the hearts of her daughters Amber McHenry, Erin McHenry-Foster, stepson Mark McHenry and her dear friend and partner David Nelson. Her grandchildren Cian Montgomery, Dorothy Williams, Tatum Foster and Oliver Foster. Her siblings Jemina Lotti, Susan Poole and Jim Prader, Heather Maeer, Renee Carstens, Kathie Spiloto, Bill Ritchie, John Ritchie and Pam Wisniewski.
Mary will be cremated at Moore Funeral Homes, Tulsa, OK and a Memorial will be held in the Spring of 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Details will be announced.
