On Saturday, March 2, 2024, Mary Virginia Reedy "stepped on shore and found it heaven. She took hold of a hand and found it God's hand."
Virginia was born on February 6, 1931, in Graham, TX and graduated from Graham High School in 1948, then immediately married Tom Reedy in June of that same year. Following their nuptials they moved to Tulsa, OK where Tom could attend Spartan School of Aeronautics. Four years later they already had three children -- a family of five.
As soon as her youngest was in school, Virginia went to school herself. She graduated with honors from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Education. She then received her Masters from the University of North Texas. Virginia taught every age student, but finally landed at Tarrant County Community College where she taught English Literature for 30 years. That was her favorite.
Virginia had a very strong faith and shared it her entire life. From the time she turned 21 she taught adult Sunday School Bible study.
Virginia is survived by her brother Dallas M. Lee; her son Tom Reedy and wife JoAnn; daughter Lina Holmes and husband, Richard; and son Bob Reedy. She has five grandchildren plus three bonus grandchildren: Erinn Lynam and her husband, Kevin; Jeff Reedy and his wife Jennifer; Jenni Jackson and her husband, Greg; Patrick Brown and his wife Jennifer and Richard Brown -- Ashley Cutshall and her husband, Cody and Robert Holmes and his wife, Kelsey.
