It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved sister Mary Elizabeth Record Sherman on March 27, 2026.

Mary was born on November 10, 1945 in Mattoon, Illinois, the firstborn daughter of Edmon Rush and Virginia Louise Record, who was soon followed by the birth of her four sisters Martha Ellen, Maggie Elaine, Marjorie Evelyn and Melinda Erin. The Edmon and

Virginia Record family relocated from Illinois to California in 1952 and soon settled into the booming southern California San Fernando Valley in 1957.

Mary spent an exciting and rewarding career in the entertainment industry, last working until retirement as an Executive Assistant at Universal Studios Hollywood, where she met her late husband Phil Sherman. (Mary was preceded in death by the passing of her husband on February 9, 2007.)

Mary was a warrior in every sense, facing all of life's challenges with grace and admirable strength. Mary had a heart of gold and brought joy and warmth into everyone's life and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable memories.

Since you left us Mary, you have been missed each and every day, and although you are now gone, you remain one of "The Five Record Girls".
