Mary Torres died peacefully at the age of 87 on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Prairie House Assisted Living in Broken Arrow. She was surrounded by all of her children and her daughter-in-law.

She follows her husband Edgardo who died in March 2016 and to whom she was married for 63 years. She leaves behind her daughter, Linda; her son, Stephen; her daughter, Cynthia; her son, Richard and his wife, Kellye; seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and close friends. She is survived by her sister Helen who lives in Nashville.

Mary was born in Independence, Kansas on December 5, 1929. She graduated from high school at Holy Family in Tulsa and subsequently worked as a secretary . After marriage she worked full time as a homemaker. She was a skilled seamstress, a great cook, an avid reader, a pretty good hairdresser, and, most importantly, an excellent listener. Her family was the center of her life so it was inevitable that she became the center of theirs.

A lifelong Catholic, Mary was first a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Tulsa but subsequently attended Saint Pius X Church for many years. Her faith in God was as natural as breathing to her but she was never judgmental about people whose beliefs were different from hers. She never questioned her belief in God as well as her future with Him and she found great comfort in that, especially at the end of her life.

Visitation will be Thursday October 26, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Moore Funeral Home, 9350 East 51st, Tulsa, OK. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. that evening at the same location. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Church on Friday, October 27, followed by Graveside at Floral Haven Cemetery. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
