Mary Louise (Carman) Troutt, 87, passed away November 29, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. She was born September 24, 1929, the first of two daughters born to Ruth and Ralph Carman in Bartlesville, OK. She attended McKinley Grade School, Central and College High Schools graduating in 1947. She was a member of Girl Scouts, Rainbow Girls, and Girl's State, National Honor Society and was Homecoming Queen her senior year.
Mary attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois for two years, and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma. Her sorority was Delta Delta Delta.
She married Fay H. Troutt, Jr. on October 15, 1950. Shortly after Fay and Mary were married, Fay enlisted in the Army and served toward the end of WWII. They had two children, Mary Elizabeth and Robert Carman. Mary was always involved in her children's activities and served as a Girl Scout leader, Den mother, member of P.E.O. and at the First Presbyterian Church.
During the summer of 1964 the family moved to Tulsa and joined Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church. Mary enjoyed entertaining, gardening, travel, bridge and reading. The family enjoyed Lake Tenkiller and later a home on Grand Lake. Mary and Fay moved to Inverness Village in March 2013 and Fay passed away in May, 2013.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, daughter and parents. Survived by son, Robert, and wife, Julie of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Amanda Trevino and husband, Seth Hoots and Adam Troutt; great-granddaughter, Jacinda Trevino, all of Norman; sister, Carol Courtley Balles of Mission Viejo, CA; sister-in-law, Muriel Troutt of Pompano Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Mary will lie in state 9am to 8pm, Thursday, December 1, 2016 and the Memorial service will be held 2pm, Friday, December 2, 2016 both at Moore Funeral Home - Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st Street, Tulsa.
