Mary Lou Phillips, 92, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Thursday, May 21, 2020.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mary Lou graduated from Central High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Bob Phillips. Together while raising 5 children, they ran a successful business in Tulsa called Dainty Maid Food Company. Bob and Mary Lou had a passion for cars and restored many classic cars together. She was devoted to her children while they were young, by being active as a PTA mother, a Cub Scout leader, and a cheer leading coordinator.
Mary Lou was very artistic and expressed herself with intricate needle point and amazing quilt work. She was very proud that some of her work was awarded best of show and took first place at the Tulsa County Fair and a prestigious quilting event that took place in Grove, Oklahoma. She took great joy in gifting her quilts to her children and grandchildren. She always embellished her work with a quote that read, "The best kind of sleep beneath heaven above, is under a quilt handmade with love."
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert E "Bob" Phillip and son, Charles B "Chuck" Phillips. She is survived by her son, Bill and his wife, Nancy; daughter, Cindy and her husband, Dan; son, Rob and his wife, Lori and daughter, Luann. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless other family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be from 5 -7 PM, Monday, May 25th, 2020 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Tuesday, May 26th, 2020 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel. The funeral service will be limited to 50 people per the current Covid-19 guidelines. Thank you for your understanding.
