Mavis M. Loken passed away on Sunday, September 4th in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 86. She was born on April 5, 1936 near Windom, MN to John and Mabel Weiland. She married Richard "Dick" Loken June 1, 1956 in Heron Lake, MN. They were married for 58 years before Richard passed away in 2014. They lived in many places including Minnesota, South Dakota, New York, France, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Columbus (OH) before retiring in Tulsa.
Mavis Loken was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She spent her final years at Trinity Woods (formerly Methodist Manor) where she enjoyed numerous activities and made many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Torkelson and a brother, Robert Weiland. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Thomas (Bernadette) Loken of Muskogee and David Loken of Tulsa; two granddaughters, Michelle (J. J.) Cuellar, Katie (Michael) Voss; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte and J. R. Cuellar, and Josie Voss.
A private family service will be held Thursday with burial taking place at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with her husband.
