Obituary

Marion Lee Bray, 81, was born October 25, 1933 in Tishomingo, OK to Virgil Samuel and Norene Jewel Warden. She died on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in Broken Arrow, OK.

Marion grew up on a farm, and her job as a young girl was herding the turkeys. After graduating from Tishomingo High School, she attended Oklahoma State University, where she majored in journalism.

After retiring from Gulf Oil in Tulsa, Marion and her husband Richard, aka "Sir," owned and operated the lovely Roadrunner Inn in Eureka Springs, AR for 15 years. The two of them enjoyed traveling to Europe and had a special love of Germany. Marion was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She always offered an ear to listen and was the caregiver of the family. She loved board games and was an avid reader and writer. Laughter and family were "Deeya's" priorities. She was a beautiful soul who will be greatly missed. "Deeya" was the name bestowed upon her by her first grandchild, Bryan, and it became her name of choice with the entire family.

Marion is survived by: daughters, Cindy Heathcock and husband Tom of Ft. Gibson, OK and Sheri Webb and husband Joe of Heath, TX; stepdaughters, Linda Johnson and husband David of Tulsa, OK, Julie Eilers and husband Randy of Broken Arrow, OK, and Cathy Sandschaper and husband Rusty of Houston, TX. Grandchildren: Bryan Heathcock and wife Erin of Edmond, OK and their girls Lauren, Allison and Jordyn; Zachary Webb and wife Kristin of Sachse, TX and their children Dylan and Jones; Heather Gatewood and husband Kyle of Jenks, OK and their son Sam; Katy Lauck and husband Louie of Wylie, TX and their daughter Olivia. Marion's siblings: Larry Warden and wife Anita of Stratford, OK; Nancy Warden of Manteo, SC; Linda Lowry of Dallas, TX; Sandy Pralle and husband Walt of Oklahoma City, OK. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard and her brother Lew Wentz Warden.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's research in hope that a cure will be found.
