Helen "Maxine" Foote was born on April 27, 1929 in Fort Scott, Kansas and went to be with our Lord on December 2, 2020. She overcame many adversities in life but never let the hardships defeat her. She was widowed at the age of 46 and worked two jobs to provide a living for herself and her three children. After 18 years, she remarried and was widowed again at the age of 89. She was happiest when she was with family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter with all her heart. She was fortunate at the age of 91 to still be close with her siblings. In her younger days she loved golf, dancing, traveling, and playing bridge. She still never missed an opportunity to play bingo, board games, or go to a casino. The holidays were her favorite time of year because she got to spend more time with her loved ones. Her faith was strong and listening to hymns in her final days brought her comfort. She is survived by her children, Melinda Phillips (Drew), Melissa Downer Parham (Doug), Max Brown (Courtney), grandchildren Blake Downer (Kelsey), Kirk Phillips, Mitchell Phillips, Blair Downer, Wyatt Brown, Garrett Brown, Lila Jo Brown, great-granddaughter, Natalie Downer, and siblings Lucille Goltra and Ralph David as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Donations can be made in her memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
