Melvyn Douglas Green, 74, passed away on August 8, 2018. He was born August 29, 1943 in Oldham Lancashire, England to James and Dyllis (Hodgson) Green.

Mel started his professional career at the age of 21 and bought his first Bed and Breakfast. Several years later he started his northwest coach lines (touring business.)

Two prior marriages gave him 3 children who currently reside in England.

Mel did England coach tours for Boston Avenue Methodist Church Choir in August of 1989, where he met the American love of his life. He and Kaye (Welen) Green were married April 3, 1993. At which time he then gained his American BONUS son.

Once married, he immigrated over to the US and started his carpentry and contract business.
He worked up until July 2nd of this year, only one month prior to death. All the while continuing his English Tours including taking over the Oklahoma Indian Degree Team.

Mel loved sharing his English culture and history with all.

He started up the World Series of Poker League 8 years ago; playing in all Tulsa Casino Poker Rooms until settling at Riverspirit. Mel loved playing poker, watching his BBC news and following his beloved English Football Club, The Blackpool SeaSiders.

Mel was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lawrence Green. He is survived by his wife, Kaye Green; a daughter, Karen Louise Green; two sons, Paul James Green (Lisa); Mark Searle (Angela); bonus-son, Kyle Poor (Angela); and a brother, Nevill Clayton (Veronica); nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Green Country or Clarehouse.
