Obituary

In Loving Memory of Meng Sa Yang Meng Sa Yang, 38, left his physical form in August 2026. Meng lived a humble life. He worked hard and played hard. He loved telling stories, listening to music, and, most importantly, singing along with his whole heart-belting out lyrics with the kind of feeling that made you know exactly how much the music meant to him. He loved good food, too. But more than any of these things, Meng loved sharing them with the people he loved. Whether it was a meal, a song, a story, or simply time together, the people around him were what made those moments meaningful. Meng put his heart and soul into the work he did. He wanted to do right by the people who crossed his path, and he was generous with his time, his energy, and whatever resources he had when someone was in need. Raised in the Carolinas, Meng eventually made his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he built a beautiful family with his wife, Meena, and their children, Hnubci, Hana, Noah, and Nolan. Meng was the youngest child of Ntsum Xwm Yaaj and Maiv Kha Yaaj. To know Meng was to be deeply cherished. He had a way of giving his heart to the people in his life, and the love he gave will continue to live on through his family, his friends, and everyone whose life he touched. He leaves behind his mother, May Kha Yang; his sisters, Gee Ia and family, Nancy May and family, and Doua Song and family; his brother, Cheenu and family; his sister, Gao Nou and family; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends who loved him dearly. Meng will be deeply missed, but the stories he told, the songs he sang, the love he gave, and the memories he created will remain with us.
