MERL J. LINDBURG
Merl Jackson Lindburg was born April 28, 1926, in Osage City,
Kansas to Carl and Laura Jackson Lindburg.
He passed away Friday, May 17, 2013, at
St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mr. Lindburg was a veteran of World War II
and graduated from the University of Kansas
with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1950.
He was employed by Public Service Company of Oklahoma 41 years
and retired in 1991 as Vice President of Power Generation.
Mr. Lindburg was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church,
American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Rushing Stars
Square Dancing Club,and was active in the PSO retirees'association.
Mr. Lindburg enjoyed traveling, square dancing, gardening,
watching sports especially Jayhawk Basketball,
and did volunteer work for many charitable organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife LaMoyne
and his brother Clifford. He is survived by his wife, Billie;
two stepdaughters, Linda Justiss and her husband Gary,
and Wanda Gooden; two nieces, Frieda Lindburg and
Ann Lindburg and her husband Doug Sybert; two grandsons
and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 :00 AM Tuesday, May 21 at Ascension Lutheran Church, 4803 S. Lewis, Tulsa, with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa. The family will receive friends at home Monday, May 20, from
