Merleen Phena Bradford, 85, of Catoosa, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at her home peacefully in the comfort of her family.

Born in Peoria, Illinois, on June 3, 1940, Merleen was preceded in death by her beloved parents James and Delphine Mitchell, and sisters Mary Horton, Carolyn Hulsey and Lori Heath, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ben Bradford of Catoosa, OK, and her children Bret Bradford of Catoosa, Gina Bradford of Tulsa, and Lesa Pierce of Catoosa; grandchildren Tasha Simms, Kristen Williams, and Jesse Bradford-Rogers; and great-grand children Tylee Peterson, Christa Peterson and Josephine Simms.

Merleen devoted her life to the care of her family. She found joy in holiday and birthday gatherings. The louder and more laughter, the better. Some of the happiest times of her life were with close family and relatives camping on Beaver Lake in Arkansas. She was an unwavering rock of support. Her love was truly unconditional. She was the core of the family, tough and protective.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her with her house always considered a welcoming and happy home for them. If she didn't see them soon, she went to visit them. They could count on her for anything.

The lives of those who love her will never be the same with her loss, but the gift she gave by being in their lives is a blessing that will always bring treasured memories with a smile.

The family will be having a private service.
