Michael "Mike" Gus Bernart was born on August 24, 1948 in Alliance, OH. He passed away quietly on July 12, 2018 in the presence of his beloved wife of 49 years, Virginia "Ginny" Bernart.
Mike graduated from Central Catholic HS in Canton, OH. He attended the University of Cincinnati (OCAS) and earned an Associates Degree in Engineering. He began working for Bailey Meter Company. During his time with Bailey he lived in TX, NC, SC, Taipei Taiwan, PA and OK. He and his wife settled in OK to raise their three children. He began his career with PSO in 1978. Over 32 years he worked on many projects, plant start ups and mentored many engineers. He earned his Professional Engineering License and was known as the "Wizard" of Power Generation.
Mike was a long time parishioner and choir member at St. Pius X Catholic Church and Church of the Madalene. While at St.Pius he caught the theater bug and acted in numerous musicals during the 90's. He continued his love of acting and performed in productions for Heller Theater, Theater Tulsa, and The American Theater Company. He performed with the Tulsa Oratorio and loved jazz and blues music. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and Jeopardy. He was an avid model car and hot wheels collector.
Mike was a strong supporter of his children and grand children. Always present at sporting events and dance recitals. He was a source of strength and encouragement in a quiet unassuming way. He was a humble man of many talents with a keen sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Ginny, son Kirk (Michelle), daughter Marissa (Benjamyne) Young, daughter Erin, and three grandchildren: Michael and Morgan Bernart and Daphne Young.
Family, friends, and co workers were blessed to have him in their lives. He will be dearly missed.

A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 18th. The Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 19th. Both services at the Church of the Madalene, 3188 E. 22nd Street., Tulsa, OK. 74114.
