Obituary

July 14, 1953 - January 28, 2026
MICHAEL ROY DRAGOO, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 72.
Mike was born on July 14, 1953, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Margie and Jack Dragoo. His early years were shaped by a close-knit family and a childhood full of laughter, something he carried with him throughout his life. The Dragoos later moved to Tulsa, where Jack worked for American Airlines, and Tulsa quickly became the city Mike would roam, love, and call home for the rest of his days.
On January 3, 1975, Mike married his best friend, Anita Nostrand, beginning a partnership filled with, humor, and shared dreams. Together they welcomed their son, Jon, on December 12, 1982, completing the family that meant everything to Mike.
Mike and Anita were longtime partners in Sound Warehouse Records, a place where Mike's passion for music found a home. Music was the heartbeat of his life-he was never happier than when he was behind a drum kit singing. Over the years, he played in many Tulsa bands, including The Jumpshots and The Soul Avengers, leaving behind memories of rhythm, joy, and the unmistakable sound of a man doing what he loved.
Known for his mischievous grin and quick wit, Mike delighted in pulling practical jokes on his nieces and nephews. His humor was legendary in the family, and his playful spirit made him a favorite among the younger generation. He also loved walking all over Tulsa, exploring the city one step at a time, greeting familiar faces, and soaking in the community he cherished.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Margie and Jack Dragoo.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Anita; his son, Jon; his sister and brother-in-law, Dru and Dan Titchener; his sister and brother-in-law, Terry and Don Dupree; nieces Dru Jackson (Jondon Jackson), Dana Matheny (Todd Matheny), and Debra Dupree; nephew Jack Titchener (Kelly Titchener); and many cousins whom he dearly loved.
Mike's life was rich with music, laughter, family, and the simple joys that made him unforgettable. His beat lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
