Mike "Poppy" Gleghorn, 67, of Tulsa, OK, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Sunday, February 23, 2020, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born on Sunday, August 24, 1952, in Tulsa, OK, to James Andrew Gleghorn, Sr. and Mary "Charlene" (Littleton) Gleghorn. Poppy was an auto body repairman, enjoyed playing ball with Sadie, building cars, watching western movies, and restoring old Coke signs. He enjoyed visiting Woodcrest Freewill Baptist Church, Catoosa, OK. Poppy had a kind, gentle spirit, a steadfast faith, and valued his friendships and relationships. He took great pride in his daughter and grandchildren, and one of his greatest pleasures was playing with and pulling pranks on his grandchildren. Poppy will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his memory and spirit will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have him in our lives.
Poppy is survived by his wife, of 45-1/2 years, Vanessa (Foutch) Gleghorn; daughter, Michelle Ramzel and husband, Russell of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Delayna McElroy, and Olivia Hendricks, both of Tulsa, OK; three brothers, Charles Gleghorn of San Diego, CA, James A. Gleghorn, Jr., of Tulsa, OK, and Mark Gleghorn of Owasso, OK; two sisters, Gail Flanigan of Broken Arrow, OK, and Cinda Gleghorn of Broken Arrow, OK; and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jerry Wayne Gleghorn.
The family requests donations be made in Poppy's honor to the American Lung Association.
