Obituary

Michael James Kochevar, 43, passed away on April 20, 2026. Born on June 2, 1982, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Michael lived a life defined by positivity, dedication, passion, and a deep love for his family and community. He was so optimistic that he would beat the cancer he had been fighting for 2 years that he scheduled a trip to the 2026 NFL draft just a week before his passing.

Michael graduated from Pomona High School in 2001 and went on to attend Coffeyville Community College, where he earned his associate's degree and achieved one of his proudest accomplishments-winning a national cheerleading championship. He continued his education at Oral Roberts University, graduating in 2009 with a bachelor's degree. It was there that he met the love of his life, Hannah Dillard, who would become his wife. A talented athlete and teammate, Michael was inducted into the Coffeyville Community College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. He was known for his discipline, drive, and team spirit. Beyond athletics, he built a successful career working at First Pryority Bank, as a Senior Vice President where he was respected for his work ethic and integrity.

Michael had a zest for life that showed in everything he did. He loved golfing, collecting shoes, sports cards and sports memorabilia, and had a love for dogs. He was especially passionate about coaching, where he shared his knowledge, encouragement, and love of the game with others.

Above all, Michael cherished his family and the time he spent with them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Hannah Dillard, loving mother, Beth Kochevar; his sister, Stephanie Adams, her husband Jay, and their children Nathan, Landen, Declan and Haydon, his brother, Jonathan Kochevar, his in-laws Gene & Sheila Dillard, his best friend and brother in law, Aaron Dillard, his wife Mariam, and their children Aryston, Kash and Parysa, and his sister-in-law Sarah Dillard and her son Dax. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Kochevar, and his grandparents.

Michael will be remembered for his kind heart, competitive spirit, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his family, friendships, work and of course, shoes.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Michael's Life will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 3:00PM at the Moore Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa, Oklahoma.
