Obituary

Michael Paulk was born on October 12, 1948 and passed away from a long battle of esophageal cancer on June 12, 2020 in Tulsa, OK. He is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Louis Paulk. He is survived by his wife, Danielle Paulk; his children, Michael Paulk, Tracy Paulk, Jennifer Henninger and son-in-law Evan Henninger, Steven Beard and daughter-in-law Teddi Beard, Kristine Dugan and son-in-law Tom Dugan. His eight grandchildren, Nik, Abri, Charley, JoJo, James, Emmitt, Liam and Erin.

He and his mom lived in Tulsa for two years and then moved to Washington D.C. He loved the Washington Senators (which eventually moved to Arlington, TX and became the Texas Rangers) and the Washington Redskins. He told stories of skipping school to watch the Senators and saw Mickey Mantle (his childhood hero) play on several occasions. When he was 13, he moved to Tulsa to live with his Uncle Howard and Aunt Lucille. He soon met Bob Kuck, Gary Harvell, Buddy Edwards and John Duffy. Bob, Mike and Gary shared a lot of time together at Oklahoma State University and have so many memories. He graduated from Will Rogers High School and attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was in the United States Army and served in Vietnam, earning a Combat Infantryman's Badge, Bronze Star Medal and Army Commendation Medal. After college he joined an accounting firm and later became President and CEO of several Oil & Gas companies in Tulsa, OK and eventually retired in 2019.

Michael enjoyed playing golf and Friday lunches with his friends. He LOVED watching the Texas Rangers play baseball in person and on TV. His bucket list was to attend every baseball stadium when the Rangers were playing the home team and collect a stadium pin and baseball while there. He lacked six stadiums. He loved his family more than anything and loved playing with his grandchildren.

We are so thankful he is not in pain any longer and know we will see him again.
