Michael Gordon Russell, or otherwise known as JR. Age 36, of Tulsa passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022. He was born December 30, 1985, in Tulsa, OK, to Michael and Linda Russell. JR was a Sysco truck driver. He attended First United Methodist Church, but was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He played in a men's softball league known as the Hitmen; he was a board member of Oakridge Park HOA. JR also enjoyed Taekwondo, golfing, disc golf, camping and playing football & basketball. He loved playing with his 2 children and practicing Taekwondo and golf with them. JR served in Afghanistan in the United States Army and was a member of the VFW in Broken Arrow. He was also a die-hard fan of OU and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. JR is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Whitney Russell: his children, Kamryn Russell (his sausage) and Daughtry Russell (his best buddy) both of the home; his parents, Michael and Linda Russell of Kellyville, OK; mother- in-law, Susan Jenkins and father-in-law, Toby Jenkins both of Tulsa, OK; his siblings, Thomas Russell and wife Katy of Utah, Kristy Luke and husband David of Texas and Robert Russell of Sapulpa, OK; he had 3 nephews and 5 beloved nieces that were all his princesses. All his friends were his best friends, he loved helping others and dearly loved his family.
