Michael Alan Steed was born December 27th, 1957 and left this earth on April 28th, 2021. Youngest of Charles and Dolores Steed's two sons, he survived three bouts with spinal meningitis by the age of six. By the age of sixteen, he had also survived the untimely death of his father and then stepfather, Tommy Kimmey, shortly thereafter. Throughout Michael's life he survived adversity with his remarkable sense of humor, his wit, his charm and his "cool". He used his artistic side to show us the world as he saw it. He could do this with the simplest of mediums. It might be a brief letter with five minutes of writing and three hours of drawing, but by the end, the letter would look less like a letter and more like a page from Mad magazine. Something so small, yet so treasured by many. Or it might be as huge as a song he had composed, so strong and bewitching, you would wonder if he could have actually written such a masterpiece. His visual art was just as inspired. More than that, the man was funny. Bottom line. Funny. Humor was so easy for him, as natural as breathing. His resilience is his life and the beauty he saw in the world was one of a kind and we will miss him for the rest of our lives. Michael leaves behind two daughters, Skyler and Charlotte, three grandsons, Jayden, Jayce and Preston, his mother, Dolores, brother Dart and his long-time companion, Juli and their dog Oscar.
