Michael Alan Thomas, 54 of Collinsville, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 in Tulsa after a long illness. He was born February 7, 1961 in Hollywood, California, the son of Mary Elizabeth Thomas.
Michael worked as a contractor in home construction as well as a private investigator while living in California. He loved his family and his country and was very patriotic and wholly believed in our constitution. He was a political man and was the democratic nominee (won the primaries) for US Congress, 20th Congressional District, in California in both 1990 and 1992. He loved to challenge our leaders in government and keep them in check. He loved to fly and obtained his pilot's license when he was younger. He was very interested in the weather and astrology and was always watching a website that showed what was going on, on the sun and the solar flares. He loved his dogs and horses and loved to ride horses too. He loved learning new things that interest him and was the best handy man. We never had to call a plumber, electrician, or a mechanic, because he did it all!!! He was a teacher by teaching his girls how to do the same. Michael is going to be missed so much!
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Gardner Thomas of the home; three daughters, Heather Thomas of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Juliann Walling and husband Joshua of Claremore, Oklahoma and Jacquelyn Thomas or Collinsville, Oklahoma; two brothers, James Burge of Virginia and Timothy Burge of Tennessee as well as several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, one son, Michael Joshua Thomas (2/22/2014), grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Thomas, and sister, Marjorie Johnson.
