It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Walter Zumwalt, who left us on January 31st, 2025, in Tulsa, OK. at the age of 74. Michael was born on February 13th, 1950, in Oklahoma City, OK., the beloved son of George Walter and Jeanne Catherine Zumwalt.

Michael was a devoted family member, cherished by the love of his life, Donna Zumwalt, his children Kyle Zumwalt, Justin and his wife Olga Zumwalt, and Jonathan Zumwalt and his partner Jennifer, and his brother and sister, Mark Zumwalt and Betty and her husband Dennis Niver. Michael had six grand kids, Julia and Ethan, Tyler and Hailey, and Evelyn and Alec, and three great grand kids, Jett, Hendrix, and Nova Jean. Michael also had numerous nieces and nephews. His love and commitment to his family were unmatched, and his presence brought joy to all who knew him. Michael was the best anyone could have wanted in a person, son, brother, soldier, husband, father, and friend.

Michael proudly served his country as a member of the Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was recognized and celebrated for his dedication and bravery during his service. His contribution to our nation will always be remembered with gratitude, honor, and respect.

A funeral service to honor Michael's life will be held on Thursday at 12:00 pm (noon), at Moore's Funeral Chapel at South Lawn in Tulsa, OK. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate his memory.

Michael will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, strength, and unwavering love will continue to inspire us to become better people.
