Obituary

Mildred Darlene Kingsley Lyle, born September 10, 1924 in Dewey, OK considered herself rich with the only thing that truly mattered in life: Family. The eldest daughter of Pearl Jane Merrill and Fredrick William Kingsley, Millie spent her childhood in Blackwell, OK with her brothers Frank, Charlie, Moon, and Perl and sisters Elsie and Bessie. At the tender age of 5, she met the love of her life Roy and on November 26, 1943, she married him in a quick ceremony before she reported for work at the phone company and he returned to the local Naval base. They enjoyed 45 years of laughter, adventure, and love together.

Like many young women her age, she gave birth to her first child, a daughter she named Patty, while her husband was stationed in the South Pacific. Her sons Richard, Darrel, and Chuck soon followed, and her life's work as a devoted wife and mother began. Her talents as a seamstress saw her making prom dresses and Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren for years to come. Her sweet smile masked a sharp humor that was always a source of amusement for her family and friends.

With 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, Millie never lacked for an audience to look at her extensive collection of photographs or listen to her lifetime of stories. The soothing sound of a sewing machine, the secret delight of stealing a plastic grape from her dining room centerpiece, the warm snuggle of an afghan perfectly made of your favorite colors; these are just some of the cherished memories her loved ones carry with them as they say farewell to their beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Millie is predeceased by her loving husband, her parents, sister, Bessie Delvene Kingsley, brothers, Perl Richard "Big Boy" Kingsley, Carl Edgar "Moon" Kingsley, Franklin Merrill Kingsley and Charles Calvin Kingsley. She is survived by sons, Richard Thomas Lyle and his wife, Lisa, Chuck Kent Lyle and his wife, Kerri, sister, Elsie Jane Focken and 27 grandchildren.

Visitation is 6-8 PM, Monday, October 23, 2017 and the Funeral Service is 11AM, Tuesday, October 24, 2017 both at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home. Interment following at 3PM in Oak Hill Cemetery, Booneville, Arkansas.
