Mildred (Millie) Robinson Millspaugh passed peacefully into the Lord's presence on March 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. Millie was born to Frank and Marie Robinson on July 11, 1925, in Seattle, Washington. She lived a full and vibrant life focused on family and friends. Her enthusiasm and zest for life were inspiring.
In 1947 Millie received her B.A. from Oklahoma State University. While in college she served as president of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and was an active alum and lifelong supporter of the organization. She received her 75 year member pin in 2022.
On September 3, 1950, Millie married the love of her life, Bob Millspaugh. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage. In 1953, Bob and Millie welcomed their son, Clark, into the world. The family of three experienced many adventures, moving 15 times as Bob's career as a geologist advanced, including living for 4 years in Bogota, Columbia. With every move, Millie immersed herself in the community and found ways in which she could contribute and make new friends. She loved entertaining friends and family and always enjoyed organizing get-togethers.
Millie and Bob loved to travel and were fortunate to visit many beautiful cities all over the world. Millie encouraged everyone with her advice, "When you visit a new place, do, and see everything you can. You may not get to visit again!" Traveling with family and friends were highlights of Millie and Bob's years together.
In 1972 Millie and Bob settled in Tulsa. As was her custom, Millie became active in her community and was involved in a number of volunteer positions. Among those activities, she served as president of Philbrook Museum's Pacers organization in 1975 and with Bob, co-chaired Philbrook's Masters Society in 1999-2000 and St. Simeon's Foundation in 2008-2009. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild for over 30 years. She was also a member of Southern Hills Country Club. Bridge, tennis, and golf were a few of Millie's favorite pastimes. One of her fondest memories was winning a mother-son golf tournament at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma when Clark was in high school. She laughingly insisted that the reason they won was because she "just hit it exactly where Clark told me!"
In her later years, Millie found great delight in spending her time playing bridge, attending her group Bible study, garden club meetings and sharing dinner and activities with family and friends. She loved her family and friends deeply. They will miss her greatly and feel blessed for the life and love they shared.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Robinson; her husband, Bob, and her son, Clark; her sister, Ruth Thayer, and husband, Rollin; her brother, Frank Robinson, and wife, Delma-Jo and her brother-in-law, Rowland Clarkson.
