Minnie P. Beck, of Tulsa, OK, died June 11, 2016 at her home in Corpus Christi, TX. Minnie was born November 8, 1925 in Norton, Kansas to Francis Eugene and Ola Leota (Edgington) Petty. She grew up in a farming family during the Great Depression, and graduated from Flagler High School, Colorado, in 1943, whereupon she worked at United Airlines for the war effort.
Minnie was married to Terry M. Beck until his death in 1990. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tulsa, OK, since 1971. For over 33 years, Minnie was a volunteer at the Little Light House, working with special needs children. She was honored by George H. Bush for her volunteer service becoming one of the Thousand Points of Light. In 2008, Minnie bought a home in Corpus Christi where she lived in the Morningside area. She will be remembered for her service to her church and community, especially her love of and work with children.
Minnie is survived by her children Terry, Steven, David, and Laura; her sister Virdia Reggear; and two grandchildren Brian and Chris. She was preceded in death by her husband Terry; brother John and sisters Irma & Gladys.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Rosewood Chapel
Funeral services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Tulsa, OK, on Monday, June 20, at 11:00 A.M.
